Catholic cemeteries caring for family’s sacred places: Notre-Dame for more than 150 years for remembering and Hope cemetery in Ottawa
Catholic cemeteries of the archdiocese of Ottawa have been serving our community for more than 150 years and continue their mission of welcoming the deceased for their final resting place, providing a sacred place for families to remember and pray for their loved ones. The archdiocese has forty-six parish cemeteries located throughout its territory and two diocesan cemeteries: Notre-Dame cemetery and Hope cemetery, both located in the city of Ottawa.
For Christians, life events have their meaning within the faith community, from birth to death, when there is hope in the resurrection. Thus, the cemetery becomes the sacred place, linked to the community, to enable all to be gathered to witness the hope of eternal life, the heart of our faith.
All catholic cemeteries of the archdiocese of Ottawa are non-profit and have charitable status.
